About Cindi
Cindi has spent a lifetime studying art and art history through coursework, private lessons, workshops, and visits to museums. She is a portraitist (of humans and animals), as well as a painter of landscapes and still lifes. Her representational style reflects her admiration for the work of John Singer Sargent, the animalière Rosa Bonheur, Russian landscape painters, and the color palette and depictions of light of the French Impressionists. Her contemporary art “heroes” include the late Richard Schmid, Robert Johnson, and Mark Boedges.

Her work hangs in businesses and private homes throughout the country. It also can be found on the streets of Washington, D.C. She was selected to participate in several D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities public arts projects, including “Pandamania,” “Party Animals,” and the “Art on Call” (call box) project. Her paintings have won prizes at juried art shows and have been accepted at numerous Art at the Mill shows in Clarke County, Virginia, Tryst Gallery in Leesburg, Virginia, exhibits sponsored by Great Falls Studios, and UpMarket Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina, where her painting “The Sentinels” won first place at the Art from the Heart show.

Cindi and her husband moved from the Washington, DC area to Travelers Rest in the fall of 2024. Her studio is in Travelers Rest. She is a guest artist at the White Rabbit Fine Art Gallery in Travelers Rest, S.C. She is a member of Oil Painters of America and the Metropolitan Arts Council in Greenville, SC. Cindi gladly accepts special requests and commissions. Cindi received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Scholar. She received a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.
